Why AF1s?
Few styles of sneakers last, but the white on white Air Force 1 is timeless. A statement piece, a sneaker enthusiast’s favorite pair, undoubtedly a staple for the culture. White Air Force 1s have had a lasting impact since their introduction in the 80’s, making its way through 90’s and 2000’s Hip Hop, to today, where the shoe transcends race and gender.
The AF1 sneaker is praised by so many communities. While the fundamental sneaker is as easy to replace as they are to crease, for other ones, this isn’t the case. AF1s are known to be “one-time-wear”; being so rapidly purchased and replaced has led them to being one of the bestselling sneakers in history. Although the shoe is exceptionally popular, having “bragging rights” for coppin’ a fresh pair is not the same story for everyone.
Other 1s Foundation asks: where do all the pairs go after being worn but once? We chose a specific sneaker that brings communities together to be donated to various communities, both nationally and globally.
Other 1s Foundation plans to emphasize the AF1’s unifying impact and significance within the culture and strengthen our give back mentality together.

Other 1s Foundation donated its first 100 pairs collected in 2020-2021 to Cape Verde For Life, an organization within For Life Inc., that helps young men from low-income households meet their families’ basic needs, focus on education, and guide their families towards self-sufficiency in Cape Verde. Since then, Other 1s Foundation has donated upwards of 500 pairs of white AF1s in Boston, MA, Bronx, NY, and Portland, OR, islands of Fogo and Santiago (Cabo Verde, Africa); with hopes of donating nationally and internationally!
